Kura Aroha
is the
School of Aroha that is within each
of us.
It is a
school of such elegance and beauty
that the
eyes water with the remembrance.
Featuring curriculum and resources
that help us return to the heart of
conscious creation and reclaim the
know how that produces elegance,
beauty, kindness and prosperity in
our lives. Until we do the
legacy we leave for our children
looks bleak. Will they thank
us? Will they survive?
Kia
Ora - Greetings.

Kura Aroha definition of school,
curriculum and resource
As I finished
writing the above I decided to check
out the original meaning of school.
Did you know that school came from
the Greek word "skhole" and it
meant leisure. How wonderful.
The root "skh" or "sch" meant 'to
hold in one's power'.
Hmmm this makes me think that at one
time the arts of leisure were the way
to express the power that is held
within us. Indeed the Greeks
like the Maori held leisure pursuits
in high regard.
The word
curriculum comes from the latin word
currere and means current. So
Kura Aroha will take that as meaning
'the flow' and 'here,
now'. Whatever theme is in
the flow at any given moment is what
is offered here, now. Resource
comes from the French word
resoudre and means 'rise
again'. Fantastic let us
return
to the
source and
rise again.
Sharing the
elegance and beauty of Maori language
and culture.
Beauty and
elegance permeate Maori artworks,
design, dance, music, story, ritual,
oratory and much more, hinting of a
time of great peace, prosperity and
of developed human capacities way
beyond what we are expressing today.
Excellence and attention to detail
were highly developed. Indeed
many ancient cultures reflect this. A
belief in beauty and elegance can
only stem from a heart that is in
touch with this reality and is able
to consciously create this.
Providing a forum for tohunga
and matakite
Tohunga and
matakite gifts were
amongst the
capacities respected by Maori.
Tohunga are more than experts in
any one field. They have an
intimate knowing of the power of
karakia (prayer, affirmations,
incantations) to shift
vibration and change a reality. The
karakia may be heard by others or
transmitted by thought. Tohunga
recognise tohu (signs) and can
interpret their meaning and how to
respond if needed. Matakite
are people who have what is
referred to today as psychic or
telepathic abilities. They have
the ability to see/feel/hear beyond
current reality. Indeed we all
have tohunga and matakite
potential but not all are open to
strengthening these capacities.
If you venture into the science of
quantum physics you will find that
scientists are validating that we are
indeed vibrations of light and sound
and reality is just an illusion we
create.
What you can expect to experience as
a participant
Here is what some
people have experienced when I was
testing the waters with my Kura
Aroha teachings.
Planting The Seeds of The Future for
All People
|
"Eye-opening, Touching, Profound and Connecting! The research work done by Ruth Makuini Tai has given me an entirely new perspective on not only the origins of the Maori people, but I also experienced a deep interconnection with the Native American and the Celtic culture as well. Ruth gently, powerfully and respectfully shows the depth and sensitivity of how language reveals the true identity, history and beliefs of a people. I encourage you to support Ruth and her work as she knits together the fabric of the foundation of her people - and plants the seeds of the future - for all people."

The Audience Was Spellbound and
Wanted More!
|
"Ruth has truly evolved her messages into a stunning compilation of tradition, knowledge, heart and spirit. Jon commented on the value of knowing more mystical meanings for Maori words he has known, and I was so grateful for the depth of aroha and mana that Ruth expresses. And the audience was spellbound and wanted more!... And the cyclone outside us just added to the majesty of Ruth's work."

An
Excellent Bridge Builder Between
Peoples &
How The Emotional and Spiritual Gaps
between us can be Mended
|
"Ruth has a rare ability to be able to combine deep knowledge of the ways and wisdom of her ancestors with a modern, strong and thoroughly accessible speaking style. She is sensible and grounded as she imparts luminous insights into the lessons that can be learnt from the stories, myths and language of the people of Aotearoa. She has a remarkable fund of knowledge and her rich sense of humour means that her audiences are fully engaged for the whole duration of her presentation. As someone who speaks from both head and heart, Ruth Tai is an excellent bridge builder between peoples, acknowledging the differences our societies have to offer at the same time as offering warm and clear advice on how emotional and spiritual gaps between us can be mended.

There is a word in
Maori that I feel best describes how
I perceive my work today. It's
the word Kai-arahi.
Ka
is to activate, to light up
i
is the sound of creation, the
creative spark
kai
is sustenance
ara
is light path
arahi
is energising light path
rahi
is bountiful
hi
is the energising force of life
As a kaiarahi
my purpose is to help people
return to kotahitanga - unity
consciousness and from there clarify
the path of highest good for
themselves and others no matter what.
In Maori culture we have a welcome
ceremony called 'pohiri'.
The women who lead this ceremony are
known as kai karanga - female
orators. They are also kai-arahi
in that they weave the oratory that
clarifies and guides us along the
path of spirit and human origin and
how our bones (iwi) are
connected to each other. They
also help clear negative influences,
notify who has left the earth plane,
explain why we have gathered and much
more.
